Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey has announced that it will kick off its 50th anniversary season with a production of Shakespeare’s Henry IV, Part One, May 30-June 24 at the F. M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre. Joseph Discher will direct.
In Henry IV, Part One, Shakespeare’s Falstaff is at the height of his bawdy powers. Fact and fiction blend seamlessly in this stirring and exuberant play.
The cast will feature Derek Wilson (Prince Hal), John Ahlin (Sir John Falstaff), Jon Barker (Henry Percy), Brent Harris (King Henry IV), John Little (Earl of Westmoreland), Conan McCarty (Thomas Percy, Earl of Worcester), Doug West (Lord Edmund Mortimer), Jeffrey M. Bender (Poins), Patrick Toon (Bardolph), Izzie Steele (Lady Percy), and Maxon Davis (Archibald) as well as Cliff Miller, Robert Grant, Glenn Beatty, Drew Dix, Jordan LaRoya, and Jesse Graham.
The design team will include Jonathan Wentz (set design), Matthew Adelson (lighting design), Paul Canada (costume design), and Richard M. Dionne (sound design).
