Jason Graae to Play Frosch in San Francisco Opera’s Die Fledermaus

Jason Graae will play the role of the drunken jailer Frosch in the San Francisco Opera production of the Johann Strauss operetta Die Fledermaus, September 9-October 13. The non-singing part has been played over the years by such performers as Dom DeLuise, Victor Borge, Jack Gilford, and Bill Irwin, who appeared in the role last season at the Metropolitan Opera.

Graae’s Broadway credits include A Grand Night for Singing, Falsettos, and Snoopy. Among his many other New York and regional credits are Guys and Dolls, The Grand Tour, Ragtime, Forever Plaid, and Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination. He won a 2006 New York Nightlife Award for his cabaret show Coup de Graae and a 2006 L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Theatrical Community Spirit.
