Gay Men’s Chorus of LA and the It Gets Better Project are to debut the musical It Gets Better on October 19 at the University of Iowa’s Hancher Auditorium.

Written and directed by Liesel Reinhart with musical direction by Morton Kier, It Gets Better aims to energize community awareness and support around the issues of bullying and harassment.

The production stars Jason Currie, Tyler Houston, Tod Macofsky, Mario Mosley, Sacha Sacket, and Drew Tablak.

In the week prior to the performance of It Gets Better, the show’s creative team will work in the community, performing excerpts from the musical and discussing the issues of bullying, tolerance and acceptance. Students will watch videos from the It Gets Better Project and respond with their own videos, poems, and stories.

Following this Iowa workshop, It Gets Better will begin a tour with stops including Lawrence, KS; Seattle, WA; and Penn State in University Park, PA.
