Imagination Stage’s Deaf Access Company will present a local tour of Hand in Hand at The Arts Barn in Gaithersburg (March 8-9), Imagination Stage’s Reeve Studio Theatre (April 5-6), and at Montgomery College’s Arts Alive! series (April 12-13).
Hand in Hand tells the tale of The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse in a highly visual production featuring dance, poetry, and song, and performed in sign language and spoken voice. The show will be presented in conjunction with Language for the Eye, an interactive exhibit about deafness and deaf culture.
The Deaf Access Company is comprised of deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing teen actors. The company performs children’s stories in a theatrical style which blends sign language with spoken voice, music, mime and dance.
