Sadler’s Wells will present Flahooley and Aladdin as part of Ian Marshall Fisher’s Lost Musicals series. Flahooley will play May 13-June 3, and Aladdin will play August 19-September 2.

With music Sammy Fain, lyrics and book by E.Y. Harburg, and a book Fred Saidy, Flahooley is a funny allegorical fairy tale with genies, magic lamps, and a doll maker. The 1951 show registered one of the few attacks on McCarthyism to be heard on the American stage.

Written for a television broadcast in 1957, Aladdin boasts music and lyrics Cole Porter and a book S.J. Perelman. Porter’s last work, the show has not been seen since the original broadcast.

Ian Marshall Fisher’s Lost Musical’s produces semi-staged performances of rarely heard works by American writers.
