Hayden Tee to Join Les Misérables as Broadway's Next Javert

Fresh from the Australian production of Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil’s classic musical Les Misérables, Hayden Tee will be the next actor to take on the role of Javert in the Broadway revival of the show. He replaces Earl Carpenter, who will give his final performance as Javert at the matinee on Sunday, January 24, before departing to star in the musical's upcoming Manila engagement.
Tee will join a cast that also stars Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, Tony Award nominee Montego Glover as Fantine, Tony Award and Olivier Award nominee Gavin Lee as Thénardier, Rachel Izen as Madame Thénardier, Brennyn Lark as Eponine, Chris McCarrell as Marius, Alexandra Finke as Cosette, and Wallace Smith as Enjolras.
Trained at Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA), Tee originated the role of Jack Worthing in the world premiere of the new musical Being Earnest, written by Paul Gordon. His other credits include Edward Rutledge in 1776, Cinderella’s Prince and the Wolf in Into the Woods, King Arthur in Camelot, Freddy Einsford Hill in My Fair Lady, and Captain Hook and Mr. Darling in Peter Pan. Tee also appeared as Marius in the 20th Anniversary West End production of Les Misérables.
Les Misérables opened at the Imperial Theatre on March 23, 2014. Featuring songs by Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Schönberg, and Herbert Kretzmer, the musical is based on Victor Hugo's classic novel as well as original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, an original adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird, and additional material by James Fenton.
