Here comes the general…to the walls of the famed restaurant.
Tony Award nominee Christopher Jackson, who will play his final performance as George Washington in Broadway's Hamilton on November 13, received a Sardi's caricature on Thursday, November 10.
Jackson is currently filming the CBS series Bull and has recorded an original song written by Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda for the new Disney film Moana. Jackson originated the role of George Washington off-Broadway and has played the role since Hamilton began performances last year at the Public Theater.
Directed by Thomas Kail and inspired by Ron Chernow's biography Alexander Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony-winning musical Hamilton explores the life of the American founding father and first Secretary of the Treasury, as well as his experiences as an orphan from the British West Indies who immigrated to the 13 Colonies and helped shape the United States of America. The show had its world premiere at the Public Theater and runs on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
