Blackman will re-join the cast on April 28.

The Tony Award-winning Best Musical Hadestown will welcome back original Broadway cast member Jewelle Blackman on April 28, joining original cast members Jessie Shelton and Kay Trinidad as the Fates. The three will play their final performance on July 19.
Blackman joined Hadestown in 2017 during its developmental run in Edmonton and made her Broadway debut in 2019 as one of the original Fates, later stepping into the role of Persephone in 2022. Shelton first portrayed a Fate in the original 2016 New York Theatre Workshop production and made her Broadway debut as a swing and understudy in the original Broadway company before re-joining the company as a Fate in 2021. Trinidad, one of the show’s longest-tenured cast members, has portrayed a Fate since the production’s Broadway opening in 2019.
They join current cast members Joshua Colley as Orpheus, Gary Dourdan as Hades, J. Harrison Ghee as Hermes, Gaby Moreno as Persephone, and Jordan Tyson as Eurydice. The chorus of Workers is played by Emily Afton, Malcolm Armwood, Jeffrey Cornelius, Sydney Parra, and Alex Puette. Swings are Brandon Cameron, KC Dela Cruz, Tara Jackson, and Max Kumangai.
Hadestown, which originated as Anaïs Mitchell’s indie theater project and album, is in its seventh year on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Directed by Rachel Chavkin, it follows intertwining love stories of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone.
