Goodspeed Musicals has announced casting for A Sign of the Times, a new musical from Emmy Award-winning writer Bruce Vilanch (Bruce Vilanch: Almost Famous). The show will run from July 29-September 4 at The Terris Theatre. JoAnn M. Hunter will choreograph, with Rick Fox serving as music director. Gabriel Barre will direct.

The cast will feature Ephie Aardema (The Bridges of Madison County) as Cindy, Robert Lenzi (Tuck Everlasting) as Brian, Bryan Fenkart (Memphis) as Dennis, Nick Bailey (Casa Valentina) as Matt, and Crystal Lucas-Perry (Little Children Dream of God) as Tanya.

The ensemble includes Lauren Boyd (West Side Story), Lauren Chapman (Kinky Boots), Melessie Clark, Drew Franklin (Cinderella), Jeremy Gaston (Sister Act), Alexandra Matteo (Annie), Keven Quillon (Annie), Kevin Santos (A Chorus Line), Dave Schoonover (Young Frankenstein), and Alet Taylor (The Producers), who will play Cleo.

A Sign of the Times is the story of Cindy, a 20-something whose dreams are bigger than her Midwestern hometown will allow. Set against the backdrop of New York City in the 1960s — women’s liberation, the civil rights movement, and protests of the Vietnam war — Cindy searches for her place in the world. This pop musical features songs made famous by Petula Clark as well as classics by Elvis Presley, Lesley Gore, Nancy Sinatra, and Fontella Bass.

The design team will include Paul Tate dePoo III (set design), Jennifer Caprio (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), Benjamin Pearcy (projection design), and Jay Hilton (sound design).
