Golden Globe nominee and West End stage veteran Rebecca Hall will make her Broadway debut this winter in Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Sophie Treadwell’s drama Machinal. Lyndsey Turner will direct the production, which begins previews on Friday, December 20 at the American Airlines Theatre. Opening night is set for Thursday, January 16.
Hall, the daughter of American opera singer Maria Ewing and legendary British stage and film director Peter Hall, received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in the film Vicky Cristina Barcelona. She has appeared in London productions of Mrs. Warren’s Profession (for which she received the Ian Charleson Award), As You Like It, Man and Superman, and Twelfth Night, as well as Bridge Project productions of The Winter’s Tale and The Cherry Orchard, among many others. Her film and television credits also include Iron Man 3, Frost/Nixon, Parade’s End, and Red Riding: 1974. Turner’s West End directing credits include Chimerica, Philadelphia, Here I Come!, Posh, and others. She is the associate director of Sheffield Theatres.
