George Street Playhouse Looks at the Mind of an Assassin in Mama's Boy

Mama’s Boy begins performances tonight at George Street Playhouse.

The play is described as follows: "Marguerite Oswald was domineering, obsessive, and desperate in her need to be loved by her younger son, Lee Harvey. She never believed her son was a monster — but was she the cause? Mama’s Boy presents a chilling glimpse into the Oswald household before and after that fateful November morning in Dallas."

Betsy Aidem (All the Way) stars as Marguerite alongside Michael Goldsmith (Doctor Who) as Lee Harvey. They are joined by Laurel Casillo (Act One) as Lee Harvey's wife, Marina, and Miles G. Jackson (My Name Is Asher Lev) as Lee Havey's brother, Robert. David Saint directs from Rob Urbinati’s script.

"I am thrilled to kick off my 20th anniversary at George Street Playhouse directing this incredible cast in such a riveting drama like Mama’s Boy," said Mr. Saint. "With all the talk of conspiracies and government distrust during this unprecedented election cycle, it seems appropriate to revisit what many consider America’s greatest conspiracy from a very different perspective."

The creative team includes scenic designer Michael Anania, costume designer Michael McDonald, lighting designer Ken Billington, and original music composer/sound designer Scott Killian.

Performances run through November 6.
