”Glee” stars Amber Riley and Jenna Ushkowitz will also appear in the August production.
Kristen Bell (Frozen), Hunter Parrish (Godspell), Amber Riley (Glee), Jenna Ushkowitz (Glee), and Beverly D'Angelo (Vegas Vacation) will star in the upcoming Hollywood Bowl production of Hair. Adam Shankman directs and choreographs the classic musical, which runs from April 1-3. Lon Hoyt serves as conductor of the revival.
Parrish will lead the company as Claude, with Bell as Sheila, Riley as Dionne, Ushkowitz as Jeanie, and D'Angelo as Mom. Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks.
Hair features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, with music by Galt MacDermot. The musical originated at New York's Public Theater and later transferred to Broadway's Biltmore Theatre, where it ran for 1,750 performances. A 2009 revival, also originating at the Public, transferred to Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre and won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.
