After getting the news that Golden Globe Award winner Sally Struthers will be headlining the upcoming national tour of Jerry Herman’s Hello, Dolly!, TheaterMania decided to pay homage to the beloved television star in this week’s Flashback Friday.
Here she is in a 1975 appearance on The Carol Burnett Show where she shows off her vocal chops…kind of…as a 1920s “chanteuse” in a film spoof entitled “The Boring Twenties.” Though all the feathers and flowery dresses scream Dolly Levi, we can expect a slightly more pleasant performance out of Struthers when she hits the road this fall.
