Last Sunday, the new Miss America, Nina Davuluri (this year’s Miss New York), performed a Bollywood-inspired performance at the live televised pageant. On Wednesday, she headed over to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre to catch up with Miss America 1984-turned-Tony-nominated-Broadway-star Vanessa Williams after one of her performances in The Trip to Bountiful. The meeting of the boundary-breaking beauties made us nostalgic for Williams’ crown-winning rendition of “Happy Days Are Here Again.”

Take a look at the impressive display of Williams’ pre-Broadway vocal chops. (For fun, count how many times she blinks throughout her performance. The number will blow your mind.)
