The former Walter Stott began as a big band musician, before becoming a music arranger, composer, and conductor in Britain in the 1950s, eventually conducting the BBC Radio Orchestra.
In the 1970s, Morley began working extensively in film and television. She won Oscar nominations for her work on the film scores of The Little Prince and The Slipper and the Rose, and later worked on such films as Star Wars, Superman, and Home Alone.
During her career, Morley received a total of 11 Emmy nominations, winning for her work on 1985′ Christmas in Washington, and for 1988’s Julie Andrews: The Sound of Christmas and 1990’s Julie Andrews in Concert.
She is survived by her partner, Christine Parker, and a son.
