Elizabeth Marvel, Daniel Gerroll, Jane Alexander to Star in PBS’ Louisa May Alcott Film Biography

Elizabeth Marvel will star in Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women, to be shown as part of PBS’s acclaimed American Masters series on December 28 at 9pm.

The show is written by Harriet Reisen and directed by Nancy Porter. It will also star Daniel Gerroll as Bronson Alcott and Jane Alexander as Ednah Cheney.

Marvel is a four-time Obie Award winner, for Therese Raquin, Hedda Gabler, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Misalliance. Her Broadway credits include Top Girls, An American Daughter, Taking Sides, and The Seagull. She will star in Suzan-Lori Parks’ The Book of Grace at the Public Theater and in Polly Sternham’s That Face at Manhattan Theatre Club in the spring.
