Details Announced for Wicked Day 2011 at the London Film Museum

The long-running musical Wicked, currently playing at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre, announced details for its sixth annual Wicked Day. The event will take place on Sunday, October 30, Noon – 4pm, at the London Film Museum, County Hall on the South Bank. There is no charge to attend, and proceeds raised will be donated to The Woodland Trust’s Heartwood Forest Appeal.

The Wicked Day event is inspired by the fictional Shiz University from the show itself. It will feature a host of Wicked and Halloween-themed events and activities for all ages including: Monkey Workshops, Shiz Karaoke, Face painting and Galinda-fying parlours, an interactive Shiz playground area as well as roaming magicians and cast performances.

Wicked is based on Gregory Maguire’s novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. It features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Winnie Holzman. The West End production opened on September 27, 2006.
