The Death of Gaia Divine

The Theatre School at DePaul University will present the world premiere of The Death of Gaia Divine, by Jacob C. Shuler, and directed by John Jenkins, as the featured production in the 2012 New Playwrights Series. The Death of Gaia Divine opens Friday, May 4, and runs through Sunday, May 13, at the Greenhouse Theater Center.

In a post-apocalyptic reality, a has-been drag queen God is ready to write the end of her life’s story – but it would mean the end of the world. Will Benji and Tallulah compel their deity Gaia Divine to give them time to start their new life together, or will she pull the plug? A dark and inspired tale of loss and love, Shuler’s new play infuses poetry and kisses with heartbreak and devastation.

New Playwrights Series productions feature a new play written by a current Theatre School student or recent graduate.
The cast includes Camden Brown (Gaia Divine), Alex Seeley (Benji), and Daniela Colucci (Tallulah).
The creative team also includes Megan Truscott (Scenic Designer), Molly C. V. Ryan (Costume Designer), Ellie Humphrys (Lighting Designer), Mikey Moran (Sound Designer), and Jean E. Compton (Stage Manager).

Admission is free but reservations are recommended. Call the Box Office at (312) 922-1999.
