The Public Theater will present the world premiere of the new play from the ”Topdog/Underdog” playwright.
The Public Theater has announced initial casting for the world premiere of Suzan-Lori Parks's White Noise. Originally scheduled to begin preview performances on February 19, it will now begin on Tuesday, March 5 and run through Sunday, April 14 in the Anspacher Theater, with opening night set for Wednesday, March 20.
Daveed Diggs (Hamilton), Sheria Irving (Romeo and Juliet), and Zoë Winters (An Octoroon) will star in the production. As previously announced, Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis will direct.
White Noise is described as follows: "Longtime friends and lovers Leo, Misha, Ralph, and Dawn are educated, progressive, cosmopolitan, and woke. But when a racially motivated incident with the cops leaves Leo shaken, he decides extreme measures must be taken for self-preservation."
