Cynthia Darlow, Josh Lucas, Jeremy Shamos, and T. Ryder Smith will star in a staged reading of Bruce Konenberg’s The Unauthorized Moving Picture of John Dillinger at 3pm on Thursday, February 22 at the Manhattan Theatre Club offices (311 West 43rd Street). Presented by the Hourglass Group, the reading will also feature Jason Liebrecht, Jenny Maguire, and Chuck Montgomery, and will be directed by Elyse Singer.

The play is set in 1934 in a remote vacation lodge in the woods of northern Wisconsin, where Dillinger, the famous gangster, is hiding out with his crew after a bank job. He has agreed to meet there with two men from Hollywood who are interested in making a movie based on his life. In addition to Kronenberg’s work as a writer for stage and screen, his credits as an actor and director include The Exonerated, Sex, and Karla.

A wine-and-cheese reception will be held after the reading. Admission is free, but reservations are required; call 212-429-8122 or email rsvp@hourglass@hotmail.com.
