Costumer William Ivey Long Receives Sardi's Portrait

Six-time Tony-winning costume designer William Ivey Long joined a lengthy list of Broadway legends yesterday, August 30, when he received a portrait at Sardi's Restaurant. The date was chosen to coincide with Long's 70th birthday.

Long has received Tony awards for his work on Nine (1982), Crazy for You (1992), The Producers (2001), Hairspray (2003), Grey Gardens (2007), and Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella (2013). He has been nominated for an additional nine Tony awards. Long's work is currently represented on Broadway in Chicago, A Bronx Tale, and Prince of Broadway.
