The lineup of performances that will be part of the annual Broadway in Chicago Concert at Taste of Chicago has been announced. The free event will be offered on Monday, June 28 at 6pm at the Petrillo Music Shell in Grant Park.
The concert will include performances by the current Chicago casts of Billy Elliot the Musical and Million Dollar Quartet, as well as previews of the upcoming Shrek the Musical, Rock of Ages, TRACES, and Hair. In addition, there will be performances from Disney’s The Lion King and Wicked, which will both be returning to Chicago later this year.
The event will also include an exclusive first look at Neil Bartram and Brian Hill’s Not Wanted On The Voyage, a new musical that will be presented by the American Music Theatre Project July 16-August 8 at the Ethel M. Barber Theatre in Evanston. Directed by Amanda Dehnert, the show looks at the Great Flood — the first time the world ended.
