Leon Addison Brown, Sahr Ngaujah, and Noah Robbins will star in the Athol Fugard-directed production.
Casting has been announced for Signature Theatre's "Master Harold" … and the boys, written and directed by Tony Award winner Athol Fugard. The production will run October 18-November 27, with a November 7 opening night on The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center.
The cast includes Leon Addison Brown (Signature’s The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek) as Sam, Tony nominee Sahr Ngaujah (Fela!) as Willie and Noah Robbins (Grease Live!) as Hally.
The design team includes Christopher H. Barreca (scenic design), Susan Hilferty (costume design), Stephen Strawbridge (lighting design), John Gromada (sound design), and Barbara Rubin (dialect coach).
The play is set in a small tea shop in South Africa in 1950, where two black men and a young white boy joke and dance together, defying the brutalities of apartheid through their joyous love. But festering issues of family, race, and power are not so easy to ignore, and a single phone call can trigger catastrophe.
