Broadway's Matilda Welcomes New Grown-Ups Amy Spanger, Allison Case, and More

Rick Holmes and Natalie Venetia Belcon also join the musical at the Shubert Theatre.

The New York production of Matilda The Musical welcomes a host of Broadway favorites in principal roles tonight at the Shubert Theatre.

New to the cast of grown-ups are Amy Spanger (Rock of Ages) as Mrs. Wormwood, Allison Case (Fly By Night) as Miss Honey, Rick Holmes (The Visit) as Mr. Wormwood, and Natalie Venetia Belcon (Avenue Q) as Mrs. Phelps.

They join Christopher Sieber as Miss Trunchbull, and the four girls sharing the title role: Mattea Conforti, Rileigh McDonald, Mimi Ryder, and Alexandra Vlachos.

Matthew Warchus directs the musical, which originated in London. It is based on the beloved children's novel by Roald Dahl and features a score by Tim Minchin and a Tony-winning book by Dennis Kelly.

The production has sets and costumes by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, and sound by Simon Baker.
