
Branden Jacobs-Jenkins has won the Vineyard Theatre Company’s Paula Vogel Award. The residency-based award comes with a cash prize and artistic development support during the 2011-2012 season.
Vogel will present Jacobs-Jenkins with the honor during a luncheon ceremony to be held on June 9 at the National Arts Club. Colman Domingo and Donna Hanover will co-host the event, which will also raise funds for the theater’s ongoing work.
Jacobs-Jenkins is a playwright, dramaturg, and performer. Among his plays are Neighbors and The Octoroon and his work has been seen at The Public Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, PS122, Soho Rep, New Dramatists, and The Matrix Theatre, as well as Theater Bielefeld in Germany and the National Theatre in London.
