Audra McDonald, Barbara Cook, and More Set for Lena Horne Tribute Concert

Billy Porter, Josh Henry, and Lindsay Mendez will also perform in the upcoming show.

Several Broadway favorites will pay tribute to the legacy of music icon Lena Horne on January 11, 2016, at Symphony Space. The Lena Horne Tribute Show will benefit Schools That Can, an organization dedicated to closing the opportunity and skills gap in urban education.

The lineup includes Tony winners Barbara Cook (The Music Man), Audra McDonald (Shuffle Along), and Billy Porter (Shuffle Along); Tony nominees Amanda Green (Hands on a Hardbody) and Joshua Henry (Shuffle Along); and Broadway favorites Rebecca Naomi Jones (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Lindsay Mendez (Wicked), Telly Leung (Allegiance), Justin Guarini (Wicked), Rick Lyon (Avenue Q), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Hamilton), and Marty Stevens. There will be special appearances by VOICE Charter School Choir and the Newark Boys Chorus.

The evening will be directed by Daniel Goldstein, with musical direction and arrangements by Marco Paguia. In addition, the show will commemorate the naming of the Lena Horne Campus of the VOICE Charter School in Long Island City, in Queens.
