Broadway and television star Diana DeGarmo and her Broadway star husband, Ace Young, have been announced to star in the upcoming national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The tour is set to kick off on March 4 in Cleveland.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is based on the biblical story of Joseph, who, after being sold into slavery by his brothers, goes on to become ruler of Egypt. DeGarmo will play the narrator, and Young will take on the role of Joseph.
DeGarmo is known for having appeared on American Idol at the age of 16. She went on to appear in Broadway musicals such as 9 to 5, Hairspray, and Hair, where she met Young, another previous contestant on American Idol.
The tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat also has dates scheduled in Tulsa, Oklahoma; St. Louis; San Jose, California; and many other locations.
