Actress Phyllis Love Has Died

Actress Phyllis Love has died of complications of Alzheimer’s disease, according to a report in The New York Times. She was 85.

Love’s Broadway credits include The Member of the Wedding, Country Girl, The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker, and Bus Stop, as well as Tennessee Williams’ Rose Tattoo., in which she originated the part of Rosa Delle Rose.

Among her film and television credits are Friendly Persuasion, Young Doctors, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone.

After her retirement from acting, Love taught English and drama and worked as a writer.

She is survived by her husband Alan Paul Gooding, as well as two stepsons, two stepdaughters, and five step-grandchildren.
