The theatrical dance piece makes its world premiere at Arena Stage.
The world premiere of Liz Lerman's Healing Wars is running at Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage from June 6-29. The theatrical dance piece, which examines the damaging impact of war and the healing that follows, stars husband and wife Bill Pullman and Tamara Hurwitz Pullman.
The production, part of the National Civil War Project, also features a company of performers in multiple roles, including Marjani Forte, George Hirsch, Ted Johnson, Alli Ross, Samantha Speis, Keith A. Thompson, and United States Navy veteran Paul Hurley.
The production features sound design by Darron L. West, scenic and costume design by David Israel Reynoso, lighting design by Heidi Eckwall, and video by Kate Freer. The piece is conceived and directed by Lerman, with choreography developed by Lerman and Keith A. Thompson in collaboration with the performers.
