Whoopi Goldberg, who starred in Steven Spielberg's 1985 film version of Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Color Purple, will participate in a conversation immediately following a screening of the film on Monday, April 16 at Lighthouse International (111 East 59th Street). Part of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' ongoing "Monday Nights With Oscar" series, the screening will begin at 7pm.

The cast also includes Oprah Winfrey, who went on to produce the Broadway musical based on Walker's novel and the film.
