Village Voice Columnist Michael Musto and Broadway's Orfeh to Turn 54 Below Into a Boogie Wonderland
Get out your bell bottoms for a one night only Disco Extravaganza on February 17.
Musto's appearance at the venue, located in the cellar of the famed Studio 54, will be a homecoming of sorts. "I was at the original Studio 54 – every night – so it'll be refreshing for me to recreate the disco classics of my youth, this time for people who are only on prescription drugs," the writer said in a statement.
Joining Musto, best known for his popular column, La Dolce Musto, will be Tony Award nominee Orfeh (Legally Blonde), disco cover band The Elektrik Company, and downtown favorites Snooky and Tish, for performances of disco hits like "I Will Survive" and "Last Dance," among others.
In addition to his fronteing a cover band for five years and "mean Peaches and Herb" impression, Musto is the author of the books Downtown, Manhattan on the Rocks, and Fork on the Left, Knife in the Back. He has appeared on television programs including The Daily Show and Real Housewives of New York, as well as in Cyndi Lauper's music video for the hit single "Hey Now (Girls Just Want to Have Fun)."
So, sip your White Russian, pop a Beta-Blocker, and shake your groove thing — Musto's going from page to stage. Click here for more information.
