Seth Rudetsky will play the central role of Arnold Beckoff in The Gallery Players's production of Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song Trilogy, to be presented November 25-December 10 at the theater in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

The cast also includes Brad Thomason as Ed, Andrea Wollenberg as Laurel, Andy Phelan as Alan, Marc Tumminelli as David, Laura Raines as Mrs. Beckoff, and Yolanda Batts as Lady Blues. The production staff is headed by Stephen Nachamie (director), Craig M. Napoliello (scenic design), Kathleen Leary (costumes), Dan Gallagher (lighting), and Brenna Sage (composer/sound design).

Rudetsky is known as a Broadway musical director/pianist and as a performer, producer, writer, and host of the Sirius Radio programs "The Beat 66" and "Broadway's Best 77." He is artistic producer/musical director of the annual Actors' Fund of America benefit concerts, and he hosts Seth Rudetsky's Chatterbox at the cabaret club Don't Tell Mama to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. He and his fellow writers were nominated for three Emmy Awards for their work on The Rosie O'Donnell Show, and his book The Q Guide to Broadway was recently published by Alyson Books. His television credits include appearances on Law and Order: C.I., All My Children, and MTV's Made.

In Torch Song Trilogy, Rudetsky will play the role created by Fierstein, a founding member of The Gallery Players. Set in the 1970s, the trilogy was originally performed Off-Broadway as three separate one-act plays about the life and loves of Arnold, a Jewish female impersonator. The 1982 Broadway production won Tony Awards for Best Play and Best Actor (Fierstein). The 1988 movie version stars Fierstein, Matthew Broderick, and Anne Bancroft.
