Ray Wise to Headline La MaMa Revival of The Tooth of Crime

Ray Wise will reprise his Obie Award-winning role as Hoss in La MaMa’s revival of Sam Shepard’s 1983 play with music The Tooth of Crime, October 3-22. The production will be directed by George Ferencz, who helmed LaMama’s 1983 production, which originated at Syracuse Stage.

The cast will include Arthur Adair, Raul Aranus, Gideon Charles Davis, Nick Denning, Cary Gant, John Andrew Morrison, and Jenne Vath; the musicians will be Danny McCormick, Jeff Lamarre, Tass Filipos, and Kevin Joy. The creative team includes Bill Stabile (sets), Sally Lesser (costumes), Jeff Tapper (lighting), and Bob Jewett (music direction).

Wise appeared on Broadway in Romeo & Juliet and Tartuffe. He is well known for his extensive work in film and television including Good Night, and Good Luck, Bob Roberts, Robocop, and Twin Peaks, in which he played Leland Palmer. He will be seen on TV this season in his recurring role as Hal Gardner on 24 and his upcoming films include The Flock and Peaceful Warrior.
