Grammy Award winner Larry Gatlin joined the cast of the Broadway musical Million Dollar Quartet at the Sunday, August 8 matinee performance of the show at the Nederlander Theatre. They performed the song, "Johnny Cash is Dead and His House Burned Down," which was written in tribute to Cash, a friend of Gatlin's, and one of the entertainers featured in the musical.

Million Dollar Quartet was inspired by the famed 1956 recording session that brought together four of the most legendary figures in the history of rock 'n' roll.

The cast features Eddie Clendening (Elvis Presley), Lance Guest (Johnny Cash), Levi Kreis (Jerry Lee Lewis), Robert Britton Lyons (Carl Perkins), Hunter Foster, and Elizabeth Stanley.

Gatlin, the lead singer/songwriter for the band Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, is a country music legend. Cash, Presley, and Perkins all recorded songs that he wrote. Gatlin has previously appeared on Broadway, playing the lead role in The Will Rogers Follies.
