Patrick Mulvey to Replace Will Chase in Broadway’s Billy Elliot

Patrick Mulvey will take over the role of Tony in the Broadway production of Billy Elliot, at the Imperial Theatre, beginning with the Friday, July 15 performance. He replaces Will Chase, who will play his final performance the evening of Sunday, July 10.

Based on the 2000 film of the same name, the show tells the tale of a young boy with a dream of being a dancer. The musical features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, direction by Stephen Daldry, and choreography by Peter Darling.

Mulvey previously played his role in the Chicago production of Billy Elliot, and comes to the Broadway company direct from the Toronto production of the musical. His additional theater credits include Rock N Roll at the Goodman Theatre, When She Danced at Timeline Theatre, and Something Wicked this Way Comes for National Theatre of Scotland.

The cast currently also stars Emily Skinner (Mrs. Wilkinson), Gregory Jbara (Dad), Carole Shelley (Grandma), Neil McCaffrey and Cameron Clifford (Michael) and Giuseppe Bausilio, Tade Biesinger, Jacob Clemente, Joseph Harrington, and Peter Mazurowski (Billy).
