MCC Theater will present Halley Feiffer's latest play, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City, as the final offering of its 2015-16 season. The production, directed by Feiffer's frequent collaborator Trip Cullman, will begin previews May 19, 2016, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre and will open on June 6. Closing date is set for June 25.

A Funny Thing… is the story of two unlikely people — a foulmouthed 20something comedienne and a middle-aged man in the midst of a divorce — who are brought together when their cancer-stricken mothers become hospital roommates. Casting and additional information about the production will be released in the coming months.

Cullman recently directed Feiffer's acclaimed dark comedy I'm Gonna Pray for You So Hard in a sold-out run at Atlantic Stage 2. Feiffer is also the author of the play How to Make Friends and Then Kill Them. As an actress, she won a Theatre World Award for her performance on Broadway in The House of Blue Leaves.
