Obie Award winner Mark Blum will permanently take over the role of Dick Jensen in the Broadway production of Gore Vidal's The Best Man at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, beginning Tuesday, June 5.

The role was originated for this revival by actor Michael McKean who as recently reported, was injured when struck by a car at the intersection of West 86th Street and Broadway on the Upper West Side. As previously reported, James Lecesne, who plays Mitch Graham, a reporter from the Washington Post in the show, had stepped in to McKean's role following the latter's injury.

Blum, who originated the same role in the 2000 Broadway revival of The Best Man, appeared Off-Broadway this past year in Lonely, I'm Not and We Live Here. His previous Broadway credits include Twelve Angry Men, The Graduate, A Thousand Clowns, Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Lost in Yonkers, My Thing of Love, and The Merchant.

Gore Vidal's The Best Man is set at the national convention where two candidates are vying for their party's nomination during the primary season.
