Jeremy Jordan, Patti Murin, Laura Osnes, Hunter Parrish Eligible in Leading Performer Tony Award Categories
During the meeting it was decided that Jennifer Lim and Gary Wilmes of Chinglish and Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy of Venus in Fur would be eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress/Actor in a Leading Role in a Play categories.
In addition, Judith Light and Thomas Sadoski of Other Desert Cities will be eligible in Best Performance by an Actress/Actor in a Featured Role in a Play categories, and Ruben Santiago-Hudson will be considered eligible in the category of Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in Stick Fly.
Musicals that have been discussed are Godspell, Bonnie & Clyde, On A Clear Day You Can See Forever, and Lysistrata Jones.
Regarding these shows it has been ruled that Hunter Parrish will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in Leading Role in a Musical category for his performance in Godspell, and Laura Osnes and Jeremy Jordan will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress/Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical categories respectively for their performances in Bonnie & Clyde, as will Patti Murin and Josh Segarra for their performances in Lysistrata Jones.
Additonally, Tobin Ost and Aaron Rhyne will be considered eligible jointly in the category of Best Scenic Design of a Musical for Bonnie & Clyde, Peter Parnell will be considered eligible in the category of Best Book of a Musical for On A Clear Day You Can See Forever.
All other decisions were consistent with the opening night credits.
As previously reported, during the Tony Awards Administration Committee's first meeting last November, it was decided that Julie Taymor would be eligible for a Tony Award in the category of Best Direction of a Musical for her work in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.
The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2011-2012 season to decide the eligibility for the 2012 Tony Awards.
