Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman and playwrights Terrence McNally, Paula Vogel, and André Gregory are among the theater personalities set to appear at the 92nd Street Y this spring.

Hoffman will join film scholar Annette Insdorf for a screening of Capote on January 11. The actor has been already won and been nominated for numerous awards for his performance as author Truman Capote in the film, and is considered to be a leading contender for the Academy Award.

On February 20, McNally and Vogel will speak at the Y. Another pair of playwrights, Roger Rosenblatt and Jules Feiffer, will give a talk on March 16. And on April 3, Robert Scanlan will direct a reading of three Samuel Beckett plays as part of the playwright's centennial celebration.

The Y will also host four dramatic readings this spring: Larry Pine will star in Leo Tolstoy's The Kreutzer Sonata on March 6; Kathryn Walker will direct The Oddysey on March 13; Elysa Marden will direct Glyn Maxwell's The Sugar Mile on May 15; and André Gregory will direct his own work, Bone Songs, on May 24.

The Y's famed Lyrics & Lyricists series is set to resume with Heart and Soul: Frank Loesser's Hollywood, January 21-23, starring Capathia Jenkins, Julia Murney, Steven Pasquale, Mary Testa, Clarke Thorell, and David Yazbek. Up next, February 25-27, will be With Mabel Mercer: The Words Came First, featuring Jeff Harnar, Valerie Lemon, Craig Rubano, KT Sullivan, and Lumiri Tubo. The series will continue with Harnick: Collector's Items (April 8-10) and Hooray for Hollywood: Johnny Mercer at the Movies (May 6-8).

Tickets to these events range in price from $17 to $55. For more information, call 212-415-5500 or visit
