The full cast has been announced for the new Broadway musical, Leap of Faith, at the St. James Theatre. The production, to be directed by Christopher Ashley, will begin previews on April 3, with a newly announced opening date of April 26. In an unusual but not unprecedented move, this is the same opening date as another Broadway show, Don't Dress for Dinner.

Leap of Faith is based on the motion picture of the same name, and features a book by original screenwriter Janus Cercone and Tony Award-winning playwright, Warren Leight, with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater. It centers on part-time reverend and full-time con artist Jonas Nightingale and the town sheriff, Marla Humes, who is determined to stop him.

As previously reported, the show will star Raúl Esparza and Jessica Phillips in the lead roles, along with additional principal cast members Krystal Joy Brown (Ornella), Kendra Kassebaum (Sam Nightingale), Kecia Lewis-Evans (Ida Mae Robinson), and Leslie Odom, Jr. (Isaiah Robinson).

Joining the principal cast is Talon Ackerman as Jake Humes, and the company will also feature Hettie Barnhill, Kyle Brenn, Ta'Rea Campbell, Michelle Duffy, Lynorris Evans, Manoly Farrell, Dierdre Friel, Bob Gaynor, Lucia Giannetta, Angela Grovey, Louis Hobson, Tiffany Howard, Grasan Kingsberry, Maurice Murphy, Ian Paget, Terita Redd, Eliseo Roman, Bryce Ryness, Ann Sanders, C.E. Smith, Danny Stiles, Dennis Stowe, Betsy Struxness, Roberta Wall, and Virginia Ann Woodruff.

The production will feature choreography by Sergio Trujillo, music supervision by Michael Kosarin, orchestrations by Michael Starobin and Joseph Joubert, vocal & incidental music arrangements by Michael Kosarin, dance music arrangements by Zane Mark, music direction by Brent-Alan Huffman, scenery by Robin Wagner, costumes by William Ivey Long, lighting by Don Holder, sound by John Shivers, wigs & hair design by Paul Huntley, and make up by Angelina Avallone.
