Jeremy Kushnier, Orfeh, and several other members of the original Broadway cast of Footloose will reunite on January 12 for a one-night-only concert of the musical's classic score. The show will take place at 7pm and 9:30pm at Feinstein's/54 Below.
Set for the concert are stars Kushnier (Ren), Jennifer Laura Thompson (Ariel), Orfeh (Rusty), Dee Hoty (Vi), Stephen Lee Anderson (Reverend Shaw), Jim Ambler (Lyle), Robin Baxter (Irene), Rosalind Brown (Wendy Jo), John Deyle (Principal Clark), Kathy Deitch (Urleen), Billy Hartung (Chuck), Tom Plotkin (Willard), Artie Harris (Jeter), and Nick Sullivan (Cop). The song list will include the show's classic hits, like "Holding Out for a Hero," "Let's Hear It for the Boy," and the title song. The concert will be music-directed by Joshua Zecher-Ross. It is produced by Shoshana Feinstein and Jesse Vargas.
Footloose features music by Tom Snow and lyrics by Dean Pitchford. The stage adaptation, which premiered on Broadway in 1998 and was nominated for four Tony Awards, was cowritten by Pitchford and Walter Bobbie, based on Pitchford's screenplay for the original 1984 hit film. Additional music was contributed by Eric Carmen, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Loggins, and Jim Steinman.
