The work, which is inspired by Bertolt Brecht's Baal, is set in 1990s New York and follows a songwriter who leads himself down a path of self-destruction. The production will also feature classic American songs performed live on stage, as well as original music by Drama Desk Award nominee GAINES.
The creative team includes Derek McLane (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), Jeff Croiter (lighting), and Shane Rettig (sound).
Hawke is currently appearing in Classic Stage Company's production of Ivanov, along with Sherman. His many stage credits include Blood from a Stone, Hurlyburly, The Winter's Tale, and The Coast of Utopia.
Sherman's plays include Things We Want, Sophistry, Women & Wallace, and Knickerbocker. Click here for more information and tickets to Clive.
