Eric Bogosian will join the previously announced
Brian d’Arcy James, Laura Linney, and Alicia Silverstone in Manhattan Theatre Club’s production of Donald Margulies’ Time Stands Still, to play MTC’s Broadway theater, the Samuel J. Friedman, beginning January 5, with an opening set for January 28. Daniel Sullivan will direct.

The play concerns long-term couple James (d’Arcy James) and Sarah (Linney), a journalist and a photographer who share a passion for documenting the realities of war. But when injuries force them to return home to New York, they confront the prospect of a more conventional life.

Bogosian, who will be making his Broadway acting debut in this production, has won a Drama Desk Award and three Obies for his solo performances, and is also the author of several plays. His acting credits include The Last Days of Judas Iscariot Off-Broadway, and most recently the role of Captain Danny Ross in television’s Law & Order: CI. D’Arcy James is currently playing the title role in Shrek the Musical, with other Broadway credits including The Apple Tree, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Sweet Smell of Success.

Linney received Tony nominations for The Crucible and Sight Unseen, with additional Broadway credits including Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Uncle Vanya, and Holiday. She won the 2008 Emmy Award for HBO’s John Adams and is a three-time Oscar nominee for The Savages, Kinsey, and You Can Count on Me. Silverstone will reprise her role of Mandy, which she played in Time Stands Still‘s world premiere in Los Angeles. She received a Golden Globe nomination for Miss Match, starred in the film Clueless, and her other stage credits include the Broadway production of The Graduate.
