Dusk Rings a Bell, with Paul Sparks, Kate Walsh, Extends Through June 26

Atlantic Theater Company has extended Stephen Belber’s Dusk Rings a Bell through June 26. The Off-Broadway production, directed by Sam Gold and featuring Paul Sparks and Kate Walsh, begins previews tonight, May 19, at Atlantic Stage 2.

The play focuses on Molly and Ray, who unexpectedly meet 25 years after a one-afternoon adolescent fling. She has a successful media career; he owns a small landscaping business. Both begin to romanticize their chance reunion, but a renewed connection is disrupted when Ray discloses the details of a crime that left him incarcerated for ten years.

Sparks has been seen on Broadway in Hedda Gabler and Take Me Out. His Off-Broadway credits include Lady, Pumpgirl, American Sligo, and Blackbird. Among his upcoming projects are the new HBO series Boardwalk Empire as well as the channel’s mini-series Mildred Pierce.

Walsh currently plays Dr. Addison Montgomery on ABC’s Private Practice. Among her other television and film credits are Grey’s Anatomy and Legion. Among her stage credits are regional productions of Happy Birthday, Wanda June, Troilus and Cressida, and Flesh and Blood.
