The New York Public Library has announced the participants for LIVE from the NYPL Presents the Rolex Arts Weekend, to be held November 10-13.

Among the highlights will be an appearance by Brazilian musician Gilberto Gil (November 10), and a conversation between opera legend Jessye Norman and Paul Holdengraber (November 11, 7pm).

There will also be a series of public programs featuring emerging talents in dance, film, literature, music, theater, and the visual arts, who were paired by the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative with master artists for a year of creative exchange.

Theater protégée Maya Zbib of Lebanon, is mentored by director Peter Sellars, and will perform The Music Box, a solo piece based on a series of real/imagined stories of women and their personal connections to their homes (November 13 at 3pm).

Film protégée Annemarie Jacir will speak with a panel of film industry luminaries and colleagues who are linked to her work, including Danny Glover, who is producing her current film, and Peter Scarlet, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival (November 12, 3pm).

Additional protégé/mentor pairs include dance protégé Lee Serle, mentored by choreographer Trisha Brown; music protégé Ben Frost, mentored by composer Brian Eno; visual arts protégé Nicholas Hlobo, mentored by sculptor Anish Kapoor; and literature protégée Tracy K.
