Danny Burstein and Linda Emond to Share a Pineapple in Broadway Revival of Cabaret

Danny Burstein (The Snow Geese) and Linda Emond (Death of a Salesman) will star alongside Alan Cumming and Michelle Williams in Roundabout Theatre Company's upcoming Broadway revival of the musical Cabaret, producers have announced. The Tony Award nominees are set to take on the roles of fruit vendor Herr Schultz and boarding house matron Fraulein Schneider, the musical's older couple involved in a doomed romance.

As previously announced, Cumming will reprise his Tony-winning role as the Emcee in this revival, which is a restaging of Roundabout's long-running 1998 production, directed by Sam Mendes and codirected by Rob Marshall. Academy Award nominee Williams (My Week With Marilyn) makes her Broadway debut as chanteuse Sally Bowles. Additionally, the revival's original design team, consisting of Robert Brill (set and club design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Peggy Eisenhauer and Mike Baldassari (lighting design), and Brian Ronan (sound design), will re-create their work. Patrick Vacariello serves as musical director.

Featuring a book by Joe Masteroff and a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Cabaret is based on the stories of Christopher Isherwood and John Van Druten's drama, I Am a Camera. The revival begins previews at Studio 54 on March 21, with an opening set for April 24. Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks.
