Additional casting has been announced for the Donmar Warehouse's critically acclaimed production of Friedrich Schiller's 1800 drama Mary Stuart, which will begin performances at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre on March 30, with an official opening on April 19. Phyllida Lloyd will direct.

The play, which is being presented in a new version by Peter Oswald, focuses on the relationship between Queen Elizabeth I of England and her rival cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots. The show was last seen on Broadway in 1971 at the Vivian Beaumont, with Nancy Marchand and Salome Jens in the leads.

Joining the previously announced Tony Award winner Janet McTeer (Mary Queen of Scots) and Olivier Award winner Harriet Walter (Elizabeth I), will be Michael Countryman (Sir Amias Paulet), John Benjamin Hickey (Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester), Brian Murray (George Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury), Michael Rudko (Count Aubespine/Melvil), Robert Stanton (William Davison), Maria Tucci (Hanna Kennedy), Chandler Williams (Mortimer), and Nicholas Woodeson (William Cecil, Lord Burleigh).

The production features design by Anthony Ward, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, and sound by Paul Ardini.

Lloyd is the director of the stage and film versions of Mamma Mia!. Her other stage credits include The Duchess of Malfi, Boston Marriage, and The Threepenny Opera.
