York Theatre Company has announced casting for the next three musicals that will be presented as part of its Developmental Reading Series.

P.J. Griffith, Sarah Stiles and Michael Urie are set to appear in Setup and Punch (October 13, 7pm). The show, with book by Mark Saltzman, music by Berton Averee, and lyrics by Rob Meurer, focuses on a musical theater writing team whose relationship is threatened by a new collaborator. The reading will feature P.J. Griffith, Sarah Stiles and Michael Urie.

On October 14 at 3pm and 7pm, Melissa Bohon, Len Cariou, Clark Carmichael, David Green, Marva Hicks, Ikuma Isaac, Jerry Lazar, Adam Monley, Paul Murphy, and Benjamin Perry will participate in a reading of Once Upon a Pastime, which has a book by Lee Robert Schreiber and music and lyrics by Terry Cashman. Directed by James Glossman and featuring music direction by Joseph Baker, the show centers on a widowed ex-ballplayer, now a bar owner in a shabby Southern town, who must confront a variety of travails.

Richard Isen’s Give a Man a Mask (October 18, 7pm), will feature Brent Barrett, Michael Mahany, and Randy Roberts. The show, written by Richard Isen and inspired by quotations from Oscar Wilde, looks at what happens after a gay, semi-retired, psychology consultant with a life-long passion for the romantic and glamorous leading ladies of Hollywood’s golden age has a near-death experience. Robert Kalfin will direct the performance, which will have music direction by Milton Granger.

Reservations for all three readings are fully booked and only available via wait list. For further information, visit: www.yorktheatre.org.
