No single show dominated last night’s Tony Awards, so a lot of happy folks from several different productions were represented among the winners, and our photographer was on hand at Radio City Music Hall to capture each of them in the flush of victory. Here are Norbert Leo Butz, Victoria Clark, and Dan Fogler, respectively honored for their performances in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Light in the Piazza, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
…and here’s the other musical acting award winner, Sara Ramirez of Monty Python’s Spamalot.
The fabulous Cherry Jones, Best Actress in a Play, Doubt.
Bill Irwin, Best Actor in a Play, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Two more winners for Doubt, Doug Hughes (Best Director of a Play) and Adriane Lenox (Best Featured Actress in a Play).
Liev Schreiber, Best Featured Actor in a Play, Glengarry Glen Ross.
John Patrick Shanley, author of the Tony-winning play Doubt, which also won him this year’s Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? author Edward Albee, who was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Tony.
Adam Guettel, winner of the Best Original Score award for The Light in the Piazza and a true triple-threat — i.e., he’s rich, handsome, and incredibly talented.
Jerry Mitchell, who was Tony-nominated for his choreography of both Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and La Cage aux Folles, won for his work on the latter show.
Here’s the legendary Mike Nichols, named Best Director of a Musical for Monty Python’s Spamalot, with his wife, Diane Sawyer.
And finally, here’s the irrepressible Billy Crystal, who won a Best Special Theatrical Event Tony for his phenomenally successful one-man show 700 Sundays.
