Terry Pratchett’s Nation Screened Worldwide on January 30 Through NT Live

New York’s Brooklyn Academy of Music and the Skirball Art Center, Washington DC’s Shakespeare Theater, and Minneapolis’ Guthrie Theatre are among the venues that will screen Melly Still’s staging of Nation, adapted by Mark Ravenhill from Terry Pratchett’s novel as part of National Theatre’s NT Live broadcast series on January 30.

Set in 1860, Nation focuses on two teenagers from very different backgrounds coming of age on an island following a tsunami that destroyed one’s village and left the other shipwrecked.

These performances, filmed live at the National in high definition, are broadcast via satellite to over 60 UK cinemas outside of London, as well as 170 venues around the world, including venues in the United States, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Scandinavia and continental Europe. NT Live began last summer with a broadcast of Phedre, starring Helen Mirren.
